    Video/audio editing software

I'm not a video editing expert but a while back I tried out the free version of Lightworks. https://lwks.com/pricing (I'm a bit suprised it hasn't already been mentioned). I think the free version is limited to 720p, but it seemed like it would be able to get the job done if that was...

    Praise For Amir’s Forum UX/Design !!

If you are in a dark room you can reduce the screen brightness to the minimum level which should reduce this effect (the blue light filter helps too). Otherwise, and if not using night mode, it is like shining a torch into your face!

    Made in UK Hi-Fi.

Indeed, the exports probably includes a large amount for semiconductor design services too. This does help to make sense of the balance of trade chart.

    Made in UK Hi-Fi.

This prompted me to think about the fact that most products will include semiconductor components (resistors, diodes, capacitors, integrated circuits, etc) and to wonder if any of these are actually still made in the UK. That rabbit hole led me to find this report...

denon x4800h sudden very loud chirp with audyssey

Unfortunately the AVR's built in calibration process can't use the UMIK-1. The Audyssey website links through to their official store on Amazon (note that there are probably many other sellers on Amazon and ebay that may be selling counterfeit products): https://audyssey.com/home-solutions/...

denon x4800h sudden very loud chirp with audyssey

Using REW for measurements wouldn't be a problem. Attempting to upload filters designed in REW into the AVR is where you could potentially run into problems but it doesn't sound as though you were doing that sort of thing. I was talking about the long thin wire to the Audyssey setup microphone...

denon x4800h sudden very loud chirp with audyssey

I was thinking of things like "Ratbuddysey" and "Audyssey One" which are not products developed by Audyssey or AVR manufacturers. They generally come with warnings that you use them at your own risk. The main risk would be that using them somehow corrupts the AVR's internal programming which...

Has that AVR ever had unofficial third party calibration scripts run on it?

    Praise For Amir’s Forum UX/Design !!

I didn't realise until recently that there are a few options for the forum's visual style (scroll to the bottom of the page to switch). I probably wouldn't have chosen this "forum style" colour scheme, however, it is distinctive, and over time I've grown to really like it. "XF2 Default Dark"...

We measure audio equipment for free!!!

I guess it is in reference to this post: https://www.audiosciencereview.com/forum/index.php?threads/why-i-hate-tariffs.62119/post-2278239

What electronic audio products you want tested most

Actually, I don't think we have seen measurements for a Purifi 1ET6525SA based amp yet. I'd be keen to see these, especially the power sweeps at different frequencies (as these are not on the datasheet). I'd like to see more AVRs etc being measured too.

    Denon x8500ha vs x6800h

The 6800 is newer and has additional features, such as the possibility of Dirac, as others have mentioned above. However, there are quite significant differences in the internal layout... The 6800 has more in common with the lower spec models (4800, 3800) and has a smaller case: The layout...

    New Server: Report Issues Here

Not a new issue exactly, but I wonder if there are any configuration options for the search indexing? I find it can be a bit strict and can give limited results... For example, if I search for: "Denon AVR-X8500 review" in titles only or "Denon AVC-X8500h review" in titles only ...then I get no...

    Upgrade from R3

Well it is expensive! Comparing the Q, R and Reference series, the cabinet construction quality and driver quality should increase as you go up the through the ranges. In the measurements this is, in theory, revealed by the distortion specs. HARMONIC DISTORTION (90dB, 1m) Q Concerto Meta: <1%...

    Upgrade from R3

The OP does mention that the speakers will be put on the desk, to be fair. But yes, a bit more detail on the budget and requirements would be helpful.

Project DS2 Amp Box vs Nord range?

According to this review... https://www.henleyaudio.co.uk/wwwroot/Media/downloads/products/PJAAAMPBOX/PJAAAMPBOX_Hi-Fi%20News%20Review.pdf the Pro-Ject DS2 Amp Box uses Hypex UcD180LP modules. You can look at the Hypex datasheet for that module here...

Any relatively affordable 4 Channel Amp+Dsp in one (little) Box?

Sorry if stating an obvious option that you have already discounted, but have you considered the Hypex Fusion plate amplifiers? https://www.hypex.nl/products/amplifier-families/fusion-amplifier-family/ Would only need mounting on a box (or on the speakers) to make a complete solution.

    Visualisations?

If you want a quick and easy way to try it, perhaps just plug a laptop into your tv and use a media player that supports visualisers. Nice images, I think this type of mood lighting could be relaxing and maybe less distracting than the more intense visualisers. Of course it's not going to be...
