AXPONA 2022-Anyone attending?-Exhibitor list now up

A shootout?! Honestly, I think they do not even play in the same league! ...and I even have Audiokinesis Swarm system with Maggies

AXPONA 2022-Anyone attending?-Exhibitor list now up

Hi Troy, do you (or anyone else) have anything to report on the LRS+ and also on the prototype subwoofer?

Thanks, but unfortunately reddit is banned where I live :(

72 software Sample Rate Converters put to the test

That is true in both instances. The null test, if with a minimum phase, involves a greater difficulty of alignment, moreover some resamplers introduce phase rotations at low levels. If the signal is near 0dBFS, in some cases some samples are shaved off. There are obviously remedies, so every...

Vinnie Rossi Ultracapacitor Power Supply Review and Comparison to UpTone LPS-1

Perhaps there is an explanation why there is a big trans and an SMPS tucked in there. The charge circuit is very taxing on this charger as large currents get drawn intermittently. Apparently there were some hum problems with the trans in the first units. So it is likely that people were not...

HQPlayer does not work (resolved, now some results)

I have always read that there are some issues with your DAC's driver, so you might want to look into that. Also, keep in mind that DSD512 upsampling doubles cpu calculation compared to DSD256.

HQPlayer does not work (resolved, now some results)

In HQPlayer you can do convolution and Mch speaker management in both PCM and DSD natively. For ex. you do not need to down-convert from DSD to PCM to apply DSP. In your case you would need to make new FIR filters (e.g. with free applications like DRC or REW) to convolve the signal because...

HQPlayer does not work (resolved, now some results)

People tend to use an iFi Dac for that. I don't remember which model does DSD512, but it's easy to look it up. EDIT: I believe it's ifi Micro iDSD

HQPlayer does not work (resolved, now some results)

On DSD512, with the just released Amanero firmware update more people should be able to playback at that rate in Linux. There is a marginal technical improvement between DSD256 and DSD512, however, going up in frequency rate it's not a guarantee of better output quality - it all comes down to...

LA Audio Show 2017: Day 1

It seems to me that there are a couple of Magnepan .7 model on each side (one inclined and one straight) and possibly a 1.7i in the center. In the side speakers the side "wings" look odd. They are either for dispersion or for simple support - they are not DWM woofers. Incidentally, in the 3rd...

LA Audio Show 2017: Day 1

Thanks for the report. Is it possible to have a picture of "unveiled" Magnepan room?

Measured Differences Between Software Audio Players

I was not at all interested in seeing the difference on the vertical axis. What interested me above anything else was establishing a (approximate) "value" on the X axis (Time axis) as the difference was rather macroscopic. After all, a 14mV deviation (on vertical axis) is equivalent to a...

Measured Differences Between Software Audio Players

amir, you always put in evidence that Audio Precision of yours which for accurate analysis in the time domain cannot compete with any oscilloscope having bandwidth over 500 kHz (the AP has limited bandwidth and it cannot trigger jittered signals accurately). If you want to talk about "vertical"...
