The HS20 are somewhat loose, just like you described them, and don't properly seal against the canal skin. Too soft material which looses it's shape, I guess. And somehow I didn't like their tonality. H570 sound fuller and warmer to me than HS20.
Latex, very comfy, soft and grippy. The sound profile is the on brighter side. I had to bring bass back by 1.5-2dB in EQ, but the vocals, soundstage that opened up. I tried Fiio HS20 and H570 wins comfort wise. Both are wide bore tips.
I have much similar problem. Stuck with H570 size S in one and SM in the other. I wish more companies would produce tips in mid-way sizes like Feaulle.
I bet the crossover it's not the Parts Express kinda design Looks like a lot of optimization 24dB/oct and resonance traps/compensation networks to get this kind of performance. And yeah to cross the tweeter that low, just above 1kHz you need a damn good waveguide. I'm very impressed.

For sure the foam and most likely the profile of the new pads doesn't compress as the pre 2021 pads. The old pads definitely caused the freq. response to change with time, I think my set of 58X from 2019 became much warmer as the pads collapsed within year and half of use. I'm quite happy with...
Beautiful front baffle. One thing, because it's a thick baffle to reduce the reflections that will show up in midwoofers passband I would bevel the inner side of of the midwoofers cut out hole. 45 degree, 2/3 of the baffle thickness should provide air flow free from turbulence that will usually...
Just put 3/4inch thick MDF 2" wide around 55-60% of the height in the middle of side panels and it can on the angle. For the enclosure this size it will be sufficient to reduce the main resonance. You could also add another one just behind the front baffle between midwoof and tweeter. Oh, and I...
Friend of mine build pair of enclosures where the width and depth were similar and almost twice the height - I didn't like sound of midrange.
The shorter the distance between panels, the higher in frequency the resonance that will occur. 0.8 multiple seem to work OK. But the simulation like the...
Actually you could put some Dacron, Rock wool or similar in space behind the tweeter to absorb the height mode. And yeah I would put piece of MDF 1.5-2in wide as a brace - keeps side panel resonances dawn and helps keep the additional damping/stuffing in place.
I get it what you mean. It would be nice just to have PEQ that would work the same way as Wavelet, but with features available in some of the music player - EQ tweaking and saving them in additional and separate folder.
Yeah, many of the EQs available for Wavelet, especially for IEMs are not...
I use Wavelet but HiBy Music player offers very decent PEQ with 10 bands, so if listen to my FLAC files I use the build in PEQ. Also no problem tweaking and saving new settings. It will also import PEQ file from user database. Very decent music player with some nice extras.
I like the look of the Peerless with the phase plug but I haven't had chance to them in my hands. They also were a bit more $ from why I remember. Can describe the sonics comparing to the other set that you built.
I like how the Mega5EST measure, close to new META tuning. Sorry, I just don't enjoy Harman 2019 low treble torture and might eventually purchase one of the new Crins projects. I liked his Dusk collab, just a bit to bright/lean for me.
