    AES6 Wow & Flutter Meter — Python & Standalone Analyzer (2σ Method)

MTA will run under Wine on Mac OS, although audio input/output configuration may be difficult. Without audio devices, you can still analyze captured waveforms from a file.

    AES6 Wow & Flutter Meter — Python & Standalone Analyzer (2σ Method)

Multitone Analyzer is using 2-sigma method.

Beta Test: Multitone Loopback Analyzer software

Turns out the issue was a simple calibration setting in MTA (level calibration factor) that was set to +10dB. Issue's solved.

Beta Test: DISTORT - audibility of distortions

In order to simulate larger levels of distortion at higher levels, I'd need to see some measurements at that power output. I can then adjust the settings in DISTORT to reproduce the same type of distortion, including any variation with frequency.

    Beta-test: DeltaWave Null Comparison software

A quick v2.0.23 DeltaWave update was published adding a new result to easily compare to the results to those published in the GearSpace thread. This adds a line to the results tab that will make it easier to compare to the results posted in that thread. Make sure to select Stereo mode if you...

    Beta-test: DeltaWave Null Comparison software

DeltaWave v2.0.22 is now the latest released version on https://deltaw.org Download installer: https://deltaw.org/DeltaWaveSetup.zip Changes in 2.0.22 Add: Option to automatically remove the effects of a minimum-phase DC filter. The automatic DC filter calculation and removal is configured...

    Beta-test: DeltaWave Null Comparison software

Hi @Rantapossu, Can you please try this new version? It attempts to update all the plots after a DC filter correction is applied, so should reflect the new phase delta: https://app.box.com/s/hlglgy3aj39rjfxu343fho4t0cdrq9v8 Uninstall previous version 2.0.21 as this has the same version number.

    Beta-test: DeltaWave Null Comparison software

Yes, thanks for reminding me! I thought I had made that change. It would appear the change didn't work :)

Analysis of MQA/non-MQA recordings through QRONO d2a

Thanks for taking the time to run these tests! Is there a way for you to share the files used for this analysis? The results look nearly random for the last three comparisons (5, 6, and 7). Seems to me these are largely uncorrelated source files, likely with very different processing and/or...

    Beta-test: DeltaWave Null Comparison software

A new test version of DeltaWave is available (v2.0.21): https://app.box.com/s/hlglgy3aj39rjfxu343fho4t0cdrq9v8 This version includes a change to address some of the reported issues with the auto-trim function and an improved clock drift calculation that should work a bit faster and produce more...

More on Lenbrook's plans for MQA

Wouldn't be a very convincing argument for MQA, I'm afraid. I can say the same about audiophile fuses, AC cords, cable lifters, Mpingo discs, etc. They all don't harm the sound yet I wouldn't invest a single penny into any of these. If I could fly, I could be convinced to step off a ledge of...

Beta Test: DISTORT - audibility of distortions

Can highly recommend it. Technically very challenging (not inexpensive, and with its own share of snake oil providers) but very rewarding.

Beta Test: DISTORT - audibility of distortions

The good thing is there are tools that let you measure clock effects. For example, Multitone has a plot for measuring sub-1Hz effects (the LP measurement is designed specifically for measuring flutter and wow in a recorded signal). DeltaWave measures jitter and clock drift (and includes tools...

Beta Test: DISTORT - audibility of distortions

The goal of jitter simulation was to reproduce "standard" audiophile-type jitter that is commonly used to explain why digital doesn't sound like analog and why real audiophiles have to invest in $5k external clocks to beat the dreaded jitter effects or to invest in mega-buck D/A converters with...

Beta Test: DISTORT - audibility of distortions

Jitter is a time-domain effect that impacts the timing of samples in a recording or reproduction. It can be viewed as amplitude modulation of the original signal with some other, undesirable signal, that may be correlated or uncorrelated with the the real content. DISTORT provides the ability to...
