    ATC speakers / Monitors

It is not state of the art. It is as good as it needs to be.

    ATC speakers / Monitors

Very interesting to see ATC modernising production - new magnetiser, surface mount PCBs. I visited the factory in 2010 and remember their old school no nonsense approach to everything. Good to see them expanding their production space. I hope they keep making their brilliant speakers for a long...

Help me convert old speakers to actives

Learned to export IR from REW to Hypex HFD. With the driver responses in, it is very intuitive to apply filters to smoothen the response and to set the driver delays to best summing. This curve sounded a bit bright, so I added a gentle slope. Then added three narrow notches below 100Hz to kill...

Help me convert old speakers to actives

Not much of a (accessible) path - Hypex plate amp is the entire chain. What kind of checks and passive notches do you mean? Can you explain, please. And what do you mean by max level? The Hypex is at 0dB, volume is controlled at the input. Comfortable background listening is at 1/10 to 1/4 vol...

Help me convert old speakers to actives

And here is a resulting VCAD sim. I am still very tentative in VCAD and XO/filters design. Would appreciate any evaluation and advice.

Help me convert old speakers to actives

Here are the curves from the outdoor session: speaker bottom is 2m+ from floor. Mic distance 1m, mic height at each driver axis. Tweeter: Midrange: Woofers (both playing, mic at midline)

Spend the last month or two polishing my measurement and VCAD skills, using home, large room (church) and then outdoors:

Most beautiful speakers in the world ?

I like these, but I think the cabinet designer missed a bit - the curves at the corners are not aligned. I think The Ones range would look better if corners of driver covers and the cabinet corners would follow they same curves.

    Ugliest component ever created

Agree it looks terrible. But what it does is amazing. This tech should be in every AV receiver in the world, but the guys behind it reckon they make more money by selling the standalone units rather than licensing to others.

Nearfield it is 10dB peak to dip.

Help me convert old speakers to actives

Are these worth addressing? Notch out the peak and apply negative gain low shelf to drop the tweeter response below 12k (instead of dropping the entire tweeter)?

This is single speaker single driver and no crossover.

Looks like these are present on the datasheet curves:

What could be causing these dip and peak on the tweeter? They are even more pronounced on the nearfield measurememts. Files are here https://audiosciencereview.com/forum/index.php?threads/help-me-convert-old-speakers-to-actives.54575/post-2284024

Help me convert old speakers to actives

I will be having another go at measurements in a large room (local church) end of May, hoping to produce a set with wider gating (compared to my small flat). My confidence level is very low, though. If someone in London is willing to join and help, that would be greatly appreciated and rewarded...

Understanding the state of the DSP market

Hypex did respond on that question: https://audiosciencereview.com/foru...plate-fusionamp-amplifiers.18537/post-1338143

    Why 93.75 kHz sampling rate?

Hypex did respond on that question more clearly. Let me try to find it Edit: Here it is: https://audiosciencereview.com/forum/index.php?threads/opinions-on-hypex-plate-fusionamp-amplifiers.18537/post-1338143
