Most beautiful veneer work I have seen on a loudspeaker.

He said the veneer work on that burl "pepperwood" would probably cost $30,000!

Smooth, warm presentation.

Overall very good sound although I was not a fan of the flexible speaker that kept resonating with the bass notes.

I was told it sounded a lot better when they swapped the new cheap preamp out. When I was there it was thin, fatiguing, but the speakers sounded like they knew how to sing. I could hear attribute I find highly desirable, just something was off. I'm told it was the preamp situation.

I went there a couple of times, I don't take notes. However if I remember right both times the music was kind of dull and without dynamics, otherwise it was just ok, I think.

I've always been a fan of Salk's woodwork. Just beautiful. Almost like he his a fine work of art furniture make who happens to make speakers. I believe has (or at least at one time had) someone highly respected in crossover design help him with his speakers. I don't recall his name ... this getting older thing is really pissing me off:)

Amir, to what are you referring when you post "flexible speaker"?

Dennis Murphy.
Friend and good guy. Non-audiophile, i.e., knows what the heck he's doing with filters.

I put my hand on the enclosure it was not inert at all. It heavily resonated/bounced with the bass. A lot more than I expect to sense in higher-end speakers.

Should have used PVC plumbing pipe. Extremely rigid.
That's why they use deep underground instead of rectangular section pipe.
