So i currently own a Denon AVR-S650H, I am looking to buy a pair of Sennheiser HD800s for late night movie/tv watching as to not annoy my neighbours.
Would this amp be appropriate in powering these headphones? Or would i need something else to get the most from these headphones.

Thanks.

Most likely you can use the headphone out.
There are no specs for the headphone out nor an schematics I could find.
I assume the headphone out will be the speaker signal with some resistor(s).
For the HD800S this method is fine.
No guarantees though....

The Sennheiser HD-800s is 300-Ohms, so should work (good enough) plugged directly into the AVR-S650H headphone jack.
