A web search for free MacOS audio players will usually skip these.
Foobar2000 - This is under constant development. The main things missing from the Windows version (in my opinion) are the highly configurable main window and conversions. I'm sure lots of other stuff important to other people is missing. What it has that the Windows version does not is Apple Audio Units. This means there is a built in parametric EQ. Take note that while plugin support is there, very few plugins have been ported.
IINA - This plays video and music. There does not seem to be a forma library like FB2K has. It's possible to set up parametric EQ using ffmpeg or MPV syntax, but it's hard to understand unless you have done this before.
DeadBeef - I haven't tried this one yet. It appears to have a lot of features.
There are others, but they show up in most of the searches.
