I have a pair of Genelecs that I use for monitoring mixes, but am looking for an ideal pair of headphones for recording. Was working on transcribing this Frescobaldi:

Tried several pairs of headphones and IEMs, and the recorders were indistinguishable in certain parts, when the ranges crossed. When I listened with HD800s each instrument had its own distinct space- it was a tremendous improvement. Just wondering if anyone else has headphones or IEMs that excel in this area? I like the HD800s a lot, but wonder how much better the fidelity can get. Thanks!
