It was the first speaker I saw in a large stack next to me. Actually I saw my Revels first but out of abundance of caution, I did not want to subject them to testing just in case the amp distorted too much. :)

Would you say this amp is a good fit for a pair of 84 dB sensitivity speakers in a living room situation? listening from around 8 ft.
Without distortion, with this sensitivity and amp, I'd only be able to get 99 dB for 32W. Any louder than that will become distorted. Confused.
EDIT: 99 dB actually sounds pretty loud, no?

Well, quite low efficiency speakers. Are they 4 or 8 ohms? As you see power of the A30 changes significantly.

I would say result depends also on type of music, room size and the volume you usually listen to your setup.

I am using with a couple of KEF LS50 (85db sensitivity) in my bedroom coupled with a Dynaudio 250 sub and the result is just fine.

They are rated 6 ohms.
All kinds of music really and a lot of TV too. Room is 18.5 sqm or 200 sqft.

It's a pretty big room for such a weak amplifier and inefficient speakers.;)
It won't be able to get super loud, but you will probably be fine. If you are going to watch exciting action scenes or sit and do focused listening, especially with vinyl, this may not be the ideal combination.

It works great in my room, which, with vaulted ceiling is about 3+ times the volume of yours assuming normal ceiling. I have 8 ohm 92.5dB speakers.

Do the math if you want...

Hi, I have Marantz M-CR510 with Q Acoustic concept 20, I find the sound lacks detail, do you think it could be better with the Loxjie A30?

And what would someone have tested the AMP35 ? There are some good opinions of the AMP25 on audiophonics.

Hi everyone,

I have a pair of Wavecrest HVL-1 monitors (86dB @ 1 watt / 1 meter; 8 ohms; 120 watts) that I would like to pair with the A30 but was wondering if it would be compatible from a power standpoint. I plan on using a JDS Labs Atom as a pre-amp and an SVS SB-2000 as a sub. Any feedback would be greatly appreciated!

Why would you use JDS Labs Atom as a pre-amp, when the A30 is an integral amplifier (it already has a pre-amp)?

I already have an Atom, and it seems like it’s a much better headphone amp than the A30. I would only be getting the A30 to drive the Wavecrest monitors.

The USB input of SMSL SA300 does not support PCM 88.2kHz, 176.4kHz, 352.8kHz. Only supports 44.1kHz 48kHz 96kHz 192kHz 384kHz. Does the Loxjie A30 support all of the following PCM signals?
However, it cannot be confirmed correctly if automatic resampling is set. It also causes confusion such as being able to play unsupported DSD.

USB: PCM44.1kHz, 48kHz, 88.2kHz, 96kHz, 176.4kHz, 192kHz, 352.8kHz, 384kHz

COAX, OPT: PCM44.1kHz, 48kHz, 88.2kHz, 96kHz, 176.4kHz, 192kHz

No. Through the USB input PCM 88.2kHz, 176.4kHz, 352.8kHz and DSD are not supported according to Audirvana on my macbook pro. Even setting "DSD over PCM" gives no sound during playback.

Well , this contrasts with my direct experience. I am pushing from Daphile in bit perfect mode 88.2 and DSD 5,6MHz without problems. I think also other sample rates of the 44.1 family will also work as it happens with 88.2 but cannot verify.
I have written to Loxjie support in order to clarify what data rates are actually supported, but they never replied...

I'll do some more test in the next days, also using a Windows laptop.
From the ESS ES9023 datasheet, PCM 32, 44.1, 48, 88.2, 176.4, 192 kHz are supported. No mention of DSD or higher PCM rates (the A30 is declared till 384 kHz).

You are right, at least for DSD. Maybe something upstream magically converts from DSD to PCM? (even Daphile, although setting does not seems so...).

It's pretty confusing. May be the board handling the digital inputs? I can't find many informations about it. "TX-384Khz Hifi Type-C Audio" shows up as a Realtek device on my Mac.

Thank you for providing the information.
As expected, it has the same specifications as the SMSL SA300.
I think the A30 is a model based on the SA300 with COAX and OPT added.

I think Daphile will check the supported formats of the connected device and automatically convert and output the file.

I was going to get an SMSL SA300 until I saw this. But D30 is not available for sale except from the Aliexpress China location? Aliexpress shows 2 in stock originating form China. Don't want to take the chance and wait for shipment form China, especially after reading the story above. :)

Any recommendations besides SMSL SA300 if one cannot easily acquire D30?
