Maybe I can help You to get rid of the Revox garbage without charge ....Unfortunately, this survey does not reveal which media are the main focus of use. For me, it's streaming today. Vinyl records I rarely listen to, but then with the greatest pleasure. What I would never use again are tape cassettes. Open reel is something I could use if I got my Revox out of the basement.
I would consider that essentially the same as a server for the purposes here.I play music directly from my computer. I don't use it as a server.
Some of the equipment I have in storage was part of sound art projects or audio-concerts I was involved in. Even though I don't use them regularly anymore, I don't have the heart to give them away. There are also old one-off master tapes.Maybe I can help You to get rid of the Revox garbage without charge ....
Alright. Added a vote.I would consider that essentially the same as a server for the purposes here.
If you value them, you should rip them to a hard drive before the tape becomes unplayable. There are also old one-off master tapes.
The danger exists, I have to agree with you. But I can't manage it in time and I have to accept that some things will be lost, and even the unused equipment will become defective. I am also worried about the material heritage of one of my best friends, a composer from France who is one of the pioneers of electronic music. If you value them, you should rip them to a hard drive before the tape becomes unplayable.
That was my only concern, getting that tape recorded music archived before it's lost forever.I am also worried about the material heritage of one of my best friends, a composer from France who is one of the pioneers of electronic music.
