Pricing in general

After a discussion with a member about my choice of amp in the preferable amp thread (Audio Analogue Donizetti) I would like to ask the people who work or worked in the industry what is considered as a fair price in general,NOT for the specific amp but in general.Lets not only consider the technical part (even if it is the most important),but the aesthetics,hints of reliability,ease of service,etc.
Let's not forget that sometimes we are talking about big people toys so it's better to see it holistically.


(disclaimer,my main amps now are Ice Edge 1200as2/ Ice Edge 300a2 so none hidden intention)
