Coax v/s Optical (toslink)

Always liked toslink, one way it has an advantage of a coaxial connection is electrical isolation between the source and the DAC.

Coax S/PDIF is often transformer coupled, although it's not mandatory.

I guess TV and computers have Toslink outs and not coax for that reason.

Want to bump this thread with an interesting problem: what's the best way to feed genelec SAM monitors (in my case the 8330) from the TV's toslink since my idiot sony android tv doesn't support usb audio class 2?
