Hello everyone,

A little confused on the power ratings on the purify amplifier. On the review, the 8 ohm and 4 ohm power ratings on the purify look low compared to the m33 and 23. My understanding was that the purify amp was just as good if not better in power output. If I recall correctly, the purify put out 154 watts 8 ohm and 200+ 4 ohm. and the Nads amplifiers put out well over 200/400 watts.

I want to get the Purify 1te400a amp to match with my NAD C399. I was originally going to get the m33 or 23, but decided this way would be much more cost efficient. I don't want to sacrifice power.

Thanks for all you do Amir!

Make sure you compare with the same gain settings.
I also recall (correct me if I'm wrong) that Nad uses a different PSU.

Thanks for chiming in. Not sure of PSU or gain settings.

Did a quick check and it seems that Nad has about 3-4db more gain in the high setting (25db vs 29db) and it does use a different (in-house?) power supply.
But if power is what your after you can check for the bigger Purifi modules offerings around.

If you don't want to sacrifice performance, you should use a purifi bridge mode solution. Either via M33/M23 or a new 1ET9040BA solution. The new Purifi Bridge-Mode modules make more current, the NAD solution more voltage!

I hope that NAD will also implement the 1ET9040BA, as the current implementations once again save on PSU and thermal management.

Thanks! So, I pulled the trigger on the Nilai Monos 500. Will my NAD C399 as a preamp have enough juice to make my speakers (Revel M106) sing. Here are the pre-out specs Nad c399:

THD (20 Hz – 20 kHz) <0.002 % at 2 V out Signal-to-Noise Ratio >106 dB (IHF; A-weighted, ref. 500 mV out, unity gain) Channel separation >100 dB (1 kHz) >90 dB (10 kHz) Input impedance (R and C) 56 kohms + 100 pF Maximum input signal >4.6 Vrms (ref. 0.1 % THD) Output impedance Source Z + 320 ohms Input sensitivity 65 mV (ref. 500 mV out, Volume maximum) Frequency response ±0.3 dB (20 Hz - 20 kHz) Maximum voltage output -IHF load >5 V (ref. 0.1 % THD)\

This with analog bypass on. Not sure the differece with it off.
